Rae Sremmurd’s Brother In Custody In Connection To Stepfather’s Shooting Death

Tupelo, MS – Rae Sremmurd’s half-brother Michael Sullivan has been taken into custody following the shooting death the duo’s stepfather Floyd Sullivan. According to TMZ and WTVA 9 News, police are calling Slim Jxmmi and Swae Lee’s sibling a person interest in the shooting.

The elder Sullivan, 62, was shot and killed in Tupelo, Mississippi on Monday night (January 6). Tupelo Police Capt. Charles McDougald said ficers found the victim dead at the scene, noting he suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

Rae Sremmurd’s 19-year-old brother is being held for a psychiatric evaluation. Police reportedly aren’t looking for any other people in connection to the shooting.

Slim and Swae’s stepfather helped raise the two after getting into a relationship with their mother Bernadette Walker. Floyd Sullivan Jr. — the victim’s son and another Rae Sremmurd sibling — mourned the loss their father Instagram on Tuesday (January 7).

“RIP pops,” he wrote. “Love you always. The greatest man I’ve ever known.”
