No, Fifth Harmony Isn’t Reuniting ‘At the Moment’
The girls of Fifth Harmony aren’t officially reuniting, but Ally Brooke is rebuilding her relationship with fellow 5H members.
After a clip circulated online of Brooke agreeing that a reunion is “closer than we think” and that they are “maybe working on something,” the “Gone to Bed” singer clarified that she’s simply rekindling her relationship with the rest of 5H.
“I’m thrilled to see there’s a lot of interest surrounding Fifth Harmony,” Brooke tweeted. “Reunion has many meanings and while there’s no official band reunion happening at the moment, some beautiful friendships and relationships are slowly reuniting in a healing and empowering way.”
The news comes after Rolling Stone confirmed that the Fifth Harmony partnership — comprising Brooke, Dinah Jane, Lauren Jauregui, and Normani — received ownership of the group name’s trademark earlier this year, and after all five members celebrated the 10-year anniversary of Fifth Harmony’s formation last year. (Camila Cabello is not part of the 5H partnership.)
Fifth Harmony, last comprising Brooke, Normani, Jauregui, and Jane, announced an indefinite hiatus in 2018 to “pursue solo endeavors.”
The news also comes after Dinah reunited with Jauregui and Brooke on separate occasions.
“This was the first time since hiatus that [Jauregui and Jane] got to hang out, talk stories, and just love and empower each other,” a source told Rolling Stone in May.
Fifth Harmony — responsible for hits like “Worth It,” “Work From Home,” “Down,” and “All in My Head (Flex)” — was formed on July 27, 2012, by Simon Cowell on the U.S. version of The X-Factor. After finishing third on the competition show, the group dropped EP Better Together in 2013 and followed it up with full-length Reflection in 2015, featuring songs like “Worth It” and “Sledgehammer.”
They released their second LP, 7/27, on the heels of the massive success of “Work From Home,” in 2016. Cabello left the group later that year. Fifth Harmony went on to release a self-titled album as a fourpiece in 2017, before officially disbanding the following year.
Since the hiatus, each member has pursued a solo career. Cabello last released her third LP Familia in 2022; Brooke came out with “Gone to Bed” last Friday and is set to star on MTV reality show The Surreal Life; Dinah Jane dropped her first single in three years, “Ya Ya,” in August; Jauregui released her second EP In Between in May; and Normani signed new management earlier this year.
