LA rapper Maxo has already announced a followup to this year’s great Even God Has A Sense of Humor. His second album of 2023 is called Debbie’s Son and it’s due September 28 via Maxo’s own SMILEFORME label. The album features production from lastnamedavid, The Alchemist, Henry Was, Beat Butcha, Alexander Spit, Ahwlee, and more, and its sole guest rapper is Zelooperz, who appears on lead single “PlayDis!.” It’s a hypnotic, mind-bending rap song and it comes with a video directed by Cleon Arrey & Max Allen. Skin sheds to reveal a version of me yet seen. Trials, tribulations, realizations. Everything contributed to the human. An attempt to not become my reactions. An attempt to retract to my purest form. Maxo has also announced the “A Friend of Mine” tour for this fall, and he’ll be joined by Sideshow. The tour begins right after Maxo plays Tyler, the Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw festival in LA, and it hits NYC, Baltimore, Chicago, Denver, San Francisco, and more.

The NYC show happens November 19 at Baby’s All Right. All dates are listed below.
