Chicago rapper Joey Purp has just released a nine-track mixtape, Heavy Heart Vol. 1. It follows YOU AND THE MONEY, his 2022 collaborative mixtape with KAMI. It’s characteristically energetic and self-assured, from big, brass-sampling tracks to more understated trap beats under Joey’s assertive flows (there are no features). The mixtape includes 2021 singles “Candypaint” and “Outside,” plus recent single “Ran Outta Ones,” and the rest is all-new. Stream Heavy Heart Vol. 1 below.
