The album’s title — taken from the tail end her full name, Jhené Aiko Efuru Chilombo — looks to encompass a range powerful emotions from the 31-year-old singer’s real life. She returned to her great-great grandmother’s birthplace — The Big Island Hawaii — to perfect the album’s contents through initial jam sessions and reportedly incorporated crystal alchemy singing bowls on every track, a technique she has dubbed “modern mantra.”

Three CHILOMBO singles — “Triggered,” the Big Sean-featured “None Of Your Concern,” and “P*$$y Fairy (OTW)” — have been released thus far, combing for more than 500 million streams globally.

Jhené’s last album, 2017’s Trip, spawned a few platinum and gold plaques and even a 23-minute short film that Jhené wrote and directed alongside Girls Trip screenwriter Tracy Oliver.
