GovBall 2024 day 3 pics (SZA, Chappell Roan, Faye Webster, Beach Fossils, G Flip, Hotline TNT & more)

Governors Ball took over NYC’s iconic Flushing Meadows Corona Park for three days this past weekend, and closed out on Sunday night (6/9) with a headlining set from SZA. Like on her SOS tour, she had an elaborate, oceanic stage setup, and she powered through a set that included a large majority of SOS, a good chunk of its equally great 2017 predecessor Ctrl, and a few of her collaborations (“All the Stars” with Kendrick Lamar, “Kiss Me More” with Doja Cat, “Rich Baby Daddy” with Drake). This time around, she also treated the crowd to her 2024 single “Saturn” that wasn’t out yet during the SOS tour.

She had no guests–though, like last time, her shreddy guitarist AriO’Neal shared the spotlight with SZA on a few occasions–not that she needed any. She commanded the crowd with one woozy, airy R&B song after the next, plus her few cool outliers like the dancey “Low” and the pop-punky “F2F,” and she was in amazing form the whole time. A perfect way to close out another great year of GovBall.

Before SZA played, GovBall day three hosted Chappell Roan (who brought a new song, a message for the White House, and Statue of Liberty drag), Peso Pluma (who fractured his ankle on stage during his set but powered through), Faye Webster, Reneé Rapp, Don Toliver, (former) Brockhampton leader Kevin Abstract, Beach Fossils, Geese, G Flip, Hotline TNT, the very new but quickly rising NYC dance trio Fcukers, and more. Pictures of day three by Toby Tenenbaum (and a few by Cass Meyers, Itchy Eye Photos and Sophie Harris for Governors Ball) continue below.
