Billie Eilish previews new song ‘Lunch’ during secret Coachella DJ set

Billie Eilish gave fans a preview of her new song ‘Lunch’ during a secret Coachella set this weekend.

The singer took to the stage for a performance on the Do LaB stage on Saturday (April 13), where she teased tracks from her forthcoming new album ‘Hit Me Hard And Soft’ (out May 17).

During the DJ set, she previewed three new songs, ‘L’Amour De Ma Vie’, ‘Chihiro’ and ‘Lunch’.

The lyrics to the third track have since been shared online, in which Eilish sings: “I could eat that girl for lunch / Yeah, she dances on my tongue / Tastes like she might be the one / And I can never get enough I could buy her so much stuff / It’s a craving, not a crush.

Fans have reacted online to the suggestive lyrics that feature in ‘Lunch’, with one sharing on X/Twitter: “Finally a gay Billie song we are out of the trenches. “Gay Billie song oh I used to pray for times like this,” another said.

Back in December, Eilish responded to Variety “outing her” during an interview, stating: “I like boys and girls, leave me alone about it please”.

Fans have suggested that the versions played during her Coachella set could be remixed versions of the tracks.

Upon announcing ‘Hit Me Hard and Soft’, Eilish confirmed that she won’t be sharing any singles ahead of its release. “Finneas and I truly could not be more proud of this album and we absolutely can’t wait for you to hear it,” she also added. “Love you love you love you.”

Eilish’s performance came after Lana Del Rey brought the singer out for ‘Ocean Eyes’ and ‘Video Games’ at Coachella.

Following the performance, Del Rey told the crowd that Eilish is “the voice of your generation”, adding that she is “so fucking grateful that she’s standing to me right now singing my favourite song of hers.”

In response, Eilish pointed to Del Rey and said: “This is the reason for half of you bitches’ existence, including mine.”
