Bad Bunny’s Barclays Center run was a total spectacle (night 2 pics, video)

Bad Bunny is in the midst of his massive “Most Wanted” tour, which stopped in Brooklyn for three nights at Barclays Center on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (4/11-4/13). We went to night two on Friday, which was a total spectacle with lasers, pyrotechnics, and small LED lights scattered throughout the arena seating that would illuminate and change colors for different songs. The setup included two stages, one at each end of the floor, and a floating catwalk suspended above high in the air between them.

Billboard writes, “The stage was a dynamic piece of artwork, constantly shifting forms throughout the concert. With two stages positioned at opposite ends of the arena, and a bridge-like catwalk in between, the stage at one point transformed into an impressive replica of the Brooklyn Bridge, made possible by intricate light work. This captivating visual element added a unique dimension to the concert experience.”

A large string orchestra and conductor came out to set the mood around 9:30 PM, and 10 minutes later, Bad Bunny emerged alone in dramatic fashion. He stuck to the far stage for the first part of the show, where he was joined by a squad of backup dancers, and after a short intermission, he came back out atop a horse in a cowboy outfit. Dismounting, he took the opposite stage, and after a second set there, it rose as the floating catwalk lowered to become flush with the stage, and he did another set on the catwalk, which also rotated 90 degrees. He eventually came down off the catwalk and back onto the first stage, performing while sitting on top of a grand piano accompanied by a masked pianist. After that interlude, the piano disappeared from the stage, and Bad Bunny resumed the set on that end, dancers in tow.

Billboard also points out that on night one of the run, Bad Bunny told the crowd, in his native Spanish, “New York has been very important in my career, where dreams come true. “Being on the tour feels really amazing, going to each place and seeing it, all the cities, but New York, it’s something else. It feels more amazing than usual. Seeing all those PR and DR flags makes it even more special. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for being here, it means a lot to me.”
