22 New Metal & Hardcore Songs Out This Week
This week in heavy music, we got very good new albums from Liturgy, Dawn Ray’d, and HIRS, all three of which you can read about in Notable Releases. We also got new ones from Spectral Lore, Acid King, Aphotic, and more that you can read about over at Invisible Oranges. On top of that, this week brought singles from Creeping Death, Spirit Adrift, Predatory Void, Immortal, Jeromes Dream, Bongzilla, Gel, Chat Pile, Dorthia Cottrell, Ascended Dead, VoidCeremony, Never Ending Game, Sunrot, Glass Casket, Usnea, Nightmarer, and more. CREEPING DEATH – “INTESTINAL WRAP” (ft. CORPSEGRINDER)
Texas hardcore-infused death metallers Creeping Death have announced their sophomore album, Boundless Domain. It was produced by Killswitch Engage guitarist and veteran metalcore producer Adam Dutkiewicz, and it features death metal legend Corpsegrinder of Cannibal Corpse on its killer lead single “Intestinal Wrap.” Read more here and pick up our exclusive red & black vinyl variant.

SPIRIT ADRIFT – “DEATH WON’T STOP ME”
Retro-metallers Spirit Adrift have announced a new album and you can read about its lead single here.

PREDATORY VOID (AMENRA, OATHBREAKER) – “GROVEL”
Predatory Void (members of Amenra, Oathbreaker, and more) will release their debut LP Seven Keys to the Discomfort of Being on April 21 via Century Media, and they’ve just shared the extremely heavy new single “Grovel.”

Screamo pioneers Jeromes Dream have shared another song from their upcoming second reunion album, and you can read about it here.

BONGZILLA – “HIPPIE STICK”
Wisconsin stoners Bongzilla will release new album Dab City on June 2 via Heavy Psych Sounds, and their slowed-down fuzz sounds as tasty as ever on new single “Hippie Stick.”

GEL – “DICEY”
NJ hardcore band Gel have shared the third single off their upcoming LP Only Constant, and it’s another ripper. Read IO’s new interview with the band for more.

CHAT PILE – “CUT”
Chat Pile will release a split EP with Nerver in April, and you can read about lead single “Cut” here.

DORTHIA COTTRELL – “HARVESTER”
Windhand’s Dorthia Cottrell has shared a new single off her upcoming solo album Death Folk Country, and it’s a dark, psychedelic track that really lives up to the album title.

ASCENDED DEAD – “UNGODLY DEATH”
West Coast death metallers Ascended Dead have announced a new album, Evenfall Of The Apocalypse, due May 12 via 20 Buck Spin. Here’s the pure filth of lead single “Ungodly Death.”

VOIDCEREMONY – “ABYSSIC KNOWLEDGE BEQUEATHED”
Technical blackened death metallers VoidCeremony have shared another intense, erratic track off their upcoming LP Threads of Unknowing.

NEVER ENDING GAME – “NEVER DIE” (ft. JUSTICE TRIPP) & “MEMORIES”
Detroit hardcore band Never Ending Game have announced their sophomore LP Outcry and shared two songs, including one featuring Trapped Under Ice/Angel Du$t vocalist Justice Tripp and TUI guitarist Sam Trapkin. SUNROT – “TREPANATION”
NJ sludgesters Sunrot have shared another track off The Unfailing Rope, and it’s a harsh, intense song that the band says this about: “Trepanation is an old medical procedure where they would drill a hole into a persons skull to relieve pressure in the head. As a group of people we have all dealt with varying degrees of mental health struggles and the song is using that procedure as a metaphor for the release of that kind of mental pressure.”

GLASS CASKET – “LET THEM GO”
Deathcore vets Glass Casket (who shared members with Between the Buried and Me) are back with their first new music in 17 years. Their new self-titled EP arrives June 9 via Silent Pendulum, and here’s chaotic lead single “Let Them Go.”

USNEA – “THE COMPLEATED SAGE”
The not-easily-pigeonholable PacNW metal band Usnea have shared another track off their upcoming first album in six years, Bathed In Light. Read about it here.

Dissonant death metallers Nightmarer (current and former members of The Ocean, Convulsing, Gigan, War From A Harlot’s Mouth, and more) have shared a new song off their upcoming sophomore LP and you can read about it here.

EMPIRE STATE BASTARD (BIFFY CLYRO, SLAYER) – “HARVEST”
Empire State Bastard is a new grindcore-inspired project from Biffy Clyro members Simon Neil and Mike Vennart, with the extremely prolific and legendary Dave Lombardo (ex-Slayer, currently in tons of bands) on drums. They just signed to Roadrunner, and their debut single is “Harvest,” which is like half grindcore, half alternative rock. Interesting mix!

CALLIGRAM – “EX-SISTERE”
London black metallers Calligram have announced their sophomore album, Position | Momentum, due July 14 via Prosthetic. Here’s the tornadic lead single “Ex-Sistere.”

THY CATAFALQUE – “NÉMA VERMEK”
Hungarian avant-garde metal band Thy Catafalque will release new album Alföld on June 16 via Season of Mist, and here’s the totally-out-of-this-world new single “Néma vermek.”

VAMACHARA – “ANATHEMA”
Southern California metallic hardcore band Vamachara have shared another bone-crushing track off their upcoming LP No Roses On My Grave.

OFF! – “KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT”
Keith Morris-fronted hardcore supergroup OFF! will release the FLSD EP on Record Store Day (4/22), with outtakes from last year’s Free LSD. “We recorded ‘Keep Your Mouth Shut’ for Free LSD but ended up saving it for the movie,” Dimitri Coats says. “We needed a powerful non-album track in the film to establish the band before their attempt to save human consciousness from the clutches of an evil alien species.”

OLTH – “THE LAST SONG”
NYC screamo band OLTH opened for Liturgy at TV Eye on Thursday (3/23), and they’ve also got a new album called every day is sOmeOne’s speciaL day due June 2 via Zegema Beach Records. Lead single “THe LasT sOng” starts out harsh and caustic before turning into some Slint-like post-rock.
