Hey I’m really honored to be a part of this AAPI Fundraiser. Will is a genius producer and a great guy. Thursday is offering some really cool items and our friends have pulled out all the stops, too. Definitely worth a bid!
This last year has been hard, not just Covid, but also the violent hate crimes taking place all over this country(some of them aided & abetted by the state). And the last couple weeks have brought this violent climate of white supremacy home for me, in a most personal way. It’s a surreal feeling, sitting at the kitchen table, strategizing with my partner about accompanying her whenever she needs to go out, watching her search for pepper spray or a taser tutorial… so that she doesn’t become the next victim of Anti-Asian violence. I may be in the family group chat and i may feel deeply hurt by what’s going on but I also know I truly have no idea what it’s like for the people I love who have been targeted by race, for violence.
Thursday stands in solidarity with everyone actively working against white supremacy and systemic injustice. I hope you’ll stand with us, too.
