Watch Thundercat perform with Haim, Flying Lotus and Ty Dolla $ign

Thundercat performed with Haim, Flying Lotus, Ty Dolla $ign and more during a show in Los Angeles over the weekend.

The LA musician brought a host of guests to the stage while playing at the city’s Shrine Exposition Hall venue on Saturday night (November 27).

Early in the 18-song set, Thundercat was joined by two-thirds of Haim (sisters Danielle and Este) for a remix of ‘3am’, which appears on an expanded version of the group’s 2020 album ‘Women In Music Pt. III’.

The live collaboration saw Este Haim dance and twerk in front of Thundercat, with the bassist going on to take a tumble over a stage monitor. See the videos below.

Elsewhere Thundercat played Flying Lotus’ ‘Black Gold’ (released back in April) alongside FlyLo himself, before performing ‘Fair Chance’ with Ty Dolla $ign.

Later, Kamasi Washington made an appearance on ‘Them Changes’ and ‘Funny Thing’ while Steve Lacy contributed to a live airing of last year’s team-up ‘Black Qualls’.

According to Setlist.FM, Thundercat also covered ‘What’s The Use?’ by the late Mac Miller towards the end of the gig. Check out more fan-shot footage from the show here:

Thundercat’s current North American headline tour runs until December 11. He’ll then embark on a UK and European run of dates beginning in March 2022 in support of his 2020 album ‘It Is What It Is’.

Earlier this year, Haim made their live comeback at the Santa Barbara Bowl with help from Thundercat and Rostam. The latter artist produced the sister trio’s latest album alongside Danielle Haim and Ariel Rechtshaid.

Haim are set to return to the UK next summer for their COVID-delayed ‘One More Haim’ tour. You can see the full schedule here.

Meanwhile, Thundercat recently released a 10th anniversary deluxe edition of his debut album, ‘The Golden Age Of Apocalypse’.
