Watch the video for Doechii’s “Crazy” new single
Last month, rising rapper Doechii signed to TDE (after appearing on Isaiah Rashad's 2021 album and opening SZA's 2021 tour) and released the rap/R&B hybrid "Persuasive." Today she's released her second single for the label, "Crazy," and this one's way more in-your-face, with shouty punk-raps over pounding, tribal-y, polyrhythmic production. It also comes with a C. Prinz-directed video featuring murder, a car on fire, lots of (censored) nudity, and more.
“Crazy is about un-contained power, creativity and confidence. People call you crazy when they fear you or they don’t understand you,” says Doechii. “So when I use it in the song I’m reflecting that energy back on them to show them themselves.”
Check out both singles below. Her latest project is 2020's Oh The Places You'll Go, home of her breakthrough single "Yucky Blucky Fruitcake." If you still haven't heard or seen the amazing video for that one, check that out below too.
