Watch Foster The People mash-up Dua Lipa and Eminem’s ‘Houdini’ singles

Foster the People have released a remix playfully described as the “Battle of the Houdinis”.

The Californian band released their ‘Houdini’ on 2011’s ‘Torches’. Years later, Dua Lipa followed suit, releasing her own track by the same title as the lead single for ‘Radical Optimism’.

Eminem is now the latest to get in on the action, and released his ‘Houdini’ in May to mark his upcoming album, ‘The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)’.

Now, as seen in a post shared on social media, Foster the People have shared their remix of all three, referencing Charli XCX and joking: “(we worked it out in the remix)” in the caption, in a nod to the ‘Girl, so confusing’ remix with Lorde.

It’s a busy time for all the artists on the remix, and next month, Foster the People will release their newest album, ‘Paradise State of Mind’, marking their first since 2017’s ‘Sacred Hearts Club’.

Lipa was the first artist to headline Glastonbury this year. In a four-star review of her set, NME wrote: “The atmosphere created just moments into the set is undoubtedly one of Lipa’s biggest strengths, with the feel-good energy becoming the core of this career-defining moment. The crowd passionately sing back each word while pink flares colour the sky.

“That said, it’s a high that is hard to maintain, and some moments seem to fall flat as the set progresses. ‘These Walls’ and ‘Happy For You’ for instance – both taken from her latest album – seem to pull away from the initial euphoria. The strict dedication to the choreography, at times, severs the hopes of any spontaneity that would take the set to new territory.”

She is now set to headline Wembley Stadium, and will perform at the 90,000 capacity venue next summer, on June 20, 2025. Tickets will go on general sale here on July 12 from 10am.

Meanwhile, Eminem recently dropped ‘Houdini’ and teamed up with Babytron and Big Sean on a new ‘Spider-Man’ inspired single ‘Tobey’.
