President Donald Trump posted a thread of tweets, early Saturday, regarding protesters at the White House, claiming he would have used “vicious dogs” and “ominous weapons” if they had breached the gate.

Trump began the tweets by praising his Secret Service staff: “Great job last night at the White House by the U.S. Secret Service. They were not only totally professional, but very cool. I was inside, watched every move, and couldn’t have felt more safe,” Trump wrote. “They let the ‘protesters’ scream & rant as much as they wanted, but whenever someone got too frisky or out of line, they would quickly come down on them, hard – didn’t know what hit them.”
Then, Trump provided the hypothetical of the protesters reaching the White House lawn: “If they had they would have been greeted with the most vicious dogs, and most ominous weapons, I have ever seen. That’s when people would have been really badly hurt, at least. Many Secret Service agents just waiting for action.”
The protests in D.C. are apart of the nationwide outrage in response to the death of George Floyd. Floyd died on May 25 after being pinned down on the neck by a police officer. Floyd repeatedly told the officer he could not breathe. The officer in question has been charged with third-degree murder and manslaughter.
