BABYTRON
Rising Detroit rapper BabyTron is fresh off releasing his very fun new album Megatron and his tour supporting it begins in Houston this Saturday (4/9) and hits NYC on April 19 at Knitting Factory Brooklyn. All dates here.
PORTISHEAD
Portishead will reunite for their first show in seven years, a set at the War Child benefit concert in the band's hometown of Bristol that supports Ukraine relief. IDLES, Billy Nomates, Katy J Pearson, Heavy Lungs, Wilderman, and Willie J Healey are also on the bill.
MURDER BY DEATH / AMIGO THE DEVIL
Indie folk band Murder by Death will be hitting the road with "murderfolk" group Amigo the Devil this summer, with the first half of the tour also featuring Samantha Crain and the second half Katacombs. The NYC show is at Knockdown Center on August 19 (with Crain) and all dates are here.
CLOUD RAT
Michigan grinders Cloud Rat have announced two shows happening next month: May 21 at Sanctuary in Hamtramck, MI with Shock Narcotic, Wounded Touch, and Surfer James, and then May 28 at Saint Vitus in Brooklyn with Die Choking, Fed Ash, Thin., and Vasoconstriction.
CIRCLE JERKS / 7SECONDS / NEGATIVE APPROACH.
Circle Jerks have had to postpone a few dates this weekend of their 40th anniversary tour due to frontman Keith Morris catching Covid, but that's also allowed openers 7Seconds and Negative Approach to add an NYC club show before their two big (and still-on) NYC shows at Irving Plaza.
BBYMUTHA / KINDORA
Underground rapper BbyMutha is in the midst of her Muthaland Tour with Kindora, and she'll soon be in Brooklyn for two shows: April 21 and 22 at Baby's All Right. Night one is sold out but night two is still on sale.
MAVI
The great experimental rapper MAVI doesn't appear to have a full tour lined up, but he's got a couple shows this spring, including Brooklyn's Baby's All Right on 4/20 and Charlotte's Evening Music on May 14.
GILT
Florida emo band GILT's new EP Conceit comes out 5/6 via Smartpunk, and the band will do three Florida shows opening for Mannequin Pussy before hitting the road for a tour. All dates (including Brooklyn's Sovereign on May 12) here.
SARAH KINSLEY
California-born, NY-based singer/songwriter Sarah Kinsley has shared her first new music of the year, and she's playing some US shows in June.
OVER YONDR FESTIVAL
Yondr, the makers of the pouches that your phone gets locked in when you go to see artists like Misfits and Jack White, who ban cellphones from their shows, are throwing their own festival. Music and camping fest Over Yondr happens from June 24-26 in Greenville, NY, and the lineup includes !!!, Sheer Mag, Topaz Jones, Kississippi, Kaleta & The Super Yamba Band, and Bones of JR Jones, with more to be announced.
MARZZ
Louisville R&B singer Marzz, who has just released a deluxe edition of their 2021 debut EP Love Letterz, is opening multiple dates on H.E.R.'s current tour, and they also added several headlining shows.
KNUCKS
UK rapper Knucks has been on the rise for years, and he'll do a US one-off in NYC after his sold-out UK tour.
