BIGXTHAPLUG

Dallas rapper BigXThaPlug, who you may have seen on the XXL Freshman Class cover, has announced the Take Care Tour with Ro$ama and Yung Hood. Stops include NYC’s Gramercy Theatre on November 7.

MASSIVE ATTACK

Massive Attack will be in the US in October for Miami’s III Points festival, and have now announced a few East Coast dates around it. These will be their first shows here since the Mezzanine XXI tour in 2019 and we’ve got a presale for all headline dates.

CHAPPELL ROAN

Chappell Roan is playing All Things Go in NYC and the DC-area in September and Austin’s ACL Fest in October, and in between has announced a few more headlining shows on her Midwest Princess Tour, in Tennessee, Arkansas and Iowa. All dates are here.

KAYTRANADA

Kaytranada‘s guest-filled new album Timeless came out last month, and he’s announced a tour supporting it.

JAMIE XX: THE FLOOR CLUB RESIDENCIES

Jamie xx is bringing his ‘The Floor’ club residencies to NYC and L.A., and bringing them soon.

FRANK BLACK ‘TEENAGER OF THE YEAR’ TOUR

Frank Black‘s second solo album, Teenager of the Year, turned 30 this year, and to celebrate 4AD is giving it a new reissue, and Frank will be playing it live, in full, on tour.

ALAN SPARHAWK (LOW)

Low’s Alan Sparhawk announced his new solo album, White Roses, My God, which will be out September 27 via Sub Pop. He’ll be on tour with Godspeed You! Black Emperor this fall, with headlining shows in 2025.

NEW YORK COMEDY FEST 2024

The 2024 edition of the New York Comedy Festival happens in November at clubs across the five boroughs. The lineup includes Judd Apatow, How Did This Get Made, Tracy Morgan, Bill Maher, and more.

SONIC CATHEDRAL 20TH ANNIVERSARY W/ SLOWDIVE, RIDE, MORE

Shoegaze-centric label Sonic Cathedral began as a club night back in 2004, and this fall will celebrate (itself) for its 20th anniversary with a series of shows in London, featuring Ride, Slowdive, A Place to Bury Strangers, deary, Whitelands, bdrmm, Py Corner Audio, Moon Diagrams, Three Quarter Skies and Mildred Maud. “The first Sonic Cathedral took place in 2004 when shoegaze was still very much a dirty word,” says founder Nat Cramp. “It was supposed to be a one-off, but proved so popular I planned another one. Then another. Then it became a label. And here we are 20 years later. Never in my wildest dreams would I have expected to still be doing this in 2024, or that Ride and Slowdive would be back together and playing as part of the celebrations.” More info on these special shows is here.

Slowdive play San Francisco’s Outside Lands in August; Ride are touring North America in late fall.

Microwave will continue to support their fourth album, this year’s Let’s Start Degeneracy, on the road; they’ve announced a fall US tour.

HELMET / LOCAL H

Having wrapped up their tour with Cro-Mags in May, Helmet are staying busy on the road in 2024, and they’ve announced dates in the US and Europe/the UK

THE WONDER YEARS / THE MENZINGERS

It seems hard to believe that The Wonder Years and The Menzingers have never toured together but that won’t be true for much longer.

FOXING

After recently taking some time to celebrate The Albatross‘ 10th anniversary, Foxing have announced a headlining fall tour surrounding their appearance at Las Vegas’ Best Friends Forever fest.

DENITIA

New York-via-Houston singer/songwriter Denitia will follow 2022’s great Highways with a new album, Sunset Drive, on September 6 and a tour with Mickey Guyton.

NICK LOWE & LOS STRAITJACKETS

Nick Lowe has announced fall tour dates in support of Indoor Safari, his first proper studio album in 11 years.

XPONENTIAL MUSIC FESTIVAL

Philly-area public stations WXPN hosts its annual XPonential Music Festival on September 20-22 on the Camden Waterfront in NJ, and across the three days it includes performances by The Walkmen, Roseanne Cash, Phosphorescent, Guster, Pete Yorn, Bully, Blondshell, Florry, and more.

After XPN fest, Pete Yorn will head out on a short September tour, hitting Harrisburg, DC, Boston, NYC (Racket on 9/25), Columbus, St. Louis, and Huntsville.
