ATMOSPHERE

Atmosphere have announced the “Tour de Friends: Part Deux” which has HEBL & NOFUN! along for the ride. The tour kicks off April 10 in St. Louis and wraps up May 5 in Sioux Falls. The NYC stop is at Webster Hall on April 21.

SUNNY DAY REAL ESTATE

Sunny Day Real Estate have announced a tour celebrating the 30th anniversary of their massively influential debut album Diary for this year.

LANKUM

Dublin band Lankum‘s great fourth album, 2023’s False Lankum, has been their biggest breakthrough yet, showing up on tons of year end lists. They had a run of Europe and UK shows lined up for 2024, but they’ve now cancelled most of their planned February run in France, citing “ongoing personal circumstances” that “are not compatible with touring multiple dates and cities.” “For the rest of 2024,” they continue, “we will reluctantly only be available for one off concerts.”

NEWPORT FOLK FESTIVAL

The Rhode Island festival returns for its 65th anniversary edition on July 26-28.

The 2024 edition of California fest Lightning in a Bottle goes down over Memorial Day Weekend with Skrillex, James Blake, Fatboy Slim, M.I.A., Overmono, and more.

KISS may no longer be touring as a human band, but before they debut as digital avatars, Gene Simmons will play a festival.

AVRIL LAVIGNE

Avril Lavigne has announced a ‘Greatest Hits’ tour of North America for spring/summer, with direct support on varying dates from pop punk giants Simple Plan and All Time Low, the former of whom also toured with Avril on her very first tour, plus additional support from Royal & the Serpent and Girlfriends at select dates.

MIKI BERENYI TRIO / LOL TOLHURST X BUDGIE

The Miki Berenyi Trio, the group led by the former Lush singer/guitarist that also includes KJ McKillop of Moose and Mick Conroy of Modern English (who both also played with Miki in Piroshka) have announced their first US tour. They’ll be joined by Lol Tolhurst (ex-The Cure) and Budgie (ex-Siouxsie & The Banshees), who put out a great record last year with Jacknife Lee.

KING BUZZO / TREVOR DUNN

Melvins leader King Buzzo (Buzz Osborne) and Mr. Bungle’s Trevor Dunn have announced a co-headlining tour for this summer, with support coming from Butthole Surfers (and Melvins) member JD Pinkus. It’s King Buzzo’s second solo tour ever and first in 10 years.

FREDDIE GIBBS & MADLIB

Freddie Gibbs & Madlib will celebrate the 10th anniversary of their album Piñata with a few special “Teñata” shows that will find them backed by retro-soul/hip hop group El Michels Affair.

THE LAST DINNER PARTY

The Last Dinner Party’s debut album is out in February, and they’ll head to North America in March for a run of shows around Coachella with Miss Grit.

Woods and Animal Collective’s Avey Tare will hit the road in April for a brief run of co-headlining shows.

THE DOOBIE BROTHERS

The Doobie Brothers, who are back with Michael McDonald, have announced a tour with Robert Cray on one leg and Steve Winwood on the next.

X AMBASSADORS

X Ambassadors will support their upcoming album Townie on on tour this spring. Dates kick off with an album release show in Vancouver on April 5 and include a NYC show at Irving Plaza on May 31 with New West and Rowan Drake.

PRETTY MAJOR COMEDY SERIES AT UNION HALL

Vulture has revived its Pretty Major bi-weekly NYC comedy series, happening every other Tuesday at Union Hall with hosts Jay Jurdena and Zach Zimmerman. The 1/23 edition features Mary Beth Barone, Melody Kamali, Moss Perricone, and Lucas Zelnick, and the 2/13 show has Brian Bahe, DUKES, Maddy Kelly, and Lili Michelle.

DAVID NANCE & MOWED SOUND

Omaha musician David Nance and his new backing band Mowed Sound will release their self-titled debut on February 9 via Third Man, and while they have yet to announce a tour, they will play a hometown release show on February 16 at Reverb Lounge.
