SZA had said her new album Lana (aka SOS deluxe) would drop today (12/20), but it’s not here yet and last night she said, “FULL DELUXE DROPS FIRST THING TOMORROW AM (Had to get my mixes right lol ! All songs are delivered and Ingesting into the system as we speak pls be kind .. we been up for days ).” Unclear if “first thing tomorrow AM” means Saturday or if it still might drop sometime today, but meanwhile she did just officially release the new single she teased earlier this week, “Drive.” It’s the kind of quiet, intimate, guitar-and-vocals song that SZA does so well, and as the teaser suggested, the video stars Ben Stiller driving and getting super emotional as he sings along to the song in his car… before an ending that’s possibly soundtracked by a different song and features the nude woman with a bug face (SZA herself?) who’s also pictured (only half nude) on the album artwork. SZA and Kendrick (who also released his new album mid-day on a Friday) are going on a co-headlining stadium tour in 2025, including two nights at the NYC-area’s MetLife Stadium, May 8 and 9.
