STAYC to release new music next month
STAYC are set to return with new music in July, as confirmed by High Up Entertainment.
Earlier today (June 30), South Korean news outlet Ilgan Sports reported that the K-pop rookie group are currently in the midst of preparations to drop a new album in July. The publication cited insider information claiming that the six-piece have completed recording and are filming a music video for the release.
In response to the report, STAYC’s label, High Up Entertainment, confirmed the news in brief statement to OSEN. “It is confirmed that STAYC will be making a comeback in July,” confirmed the label, as translated by Soompi. “They recently finished shooting the music video, and they’re working hard on the final preparations.”
STAYC’s forthcoming July comeback will be their second release of the year, due to arrive approximately five months after their sophomore mini-album ‘YOUNG-LUV.COM’ in February, which featured the hit title track ‘RUN2U’.
In a glowing four-star review of that record, NME’s Angela Patricia Suacillo described ‘YOUNG-LUV.COM’ as “a mature, ambitious return that ups the ante”, and proves “that STAYC have the mettle to continue pushing the envelope with every record they put out, while not having to completely reinvent themselves every time”.
Meanwhile, the girl group are set to perform at this year’s three-day KCON LA convention, which is set to take place from August 19 to 21 at the Crypto.com Arena and the LA Convention Center located in downtown Los Angeles. It will also notably be the event’s first in-person iteration in over two years since the onslaught of the COVID-19 pandemic.
STAYC are also featured on the line-up of KCON’s subsequent spin-off ‘2022 US Tour’, which will see the group along with several other K-pop acts embark on a 12-date cross-country tour, which includes cities such as San Francisco, Houston, New York City and more.
