Some strange news circulating the world wide web today, with the report that a porn star has been arrested abroad, following the death of a man in July 2019.
Spanish police have arrested Nacho Vidal, a porn star in his mid-40’s, in connection to the death of fashion photographer, Jose Luis Abad. Abad reportedly died during the mystic ritual which involved inhaling a deadly toad venom.
“The police operation began following the victim’s death during the celebration of a mystic ritual based on the inhalation of venom of the bufo alvarius toad,” a police statement said.
The bufo alvarius toad, also known as the Colorado River toad or the Sonoran Desert toad, is a rare species found in northern Mexico and the southwestern United States. It excretes a toxin through its glands that is made up of 5-MeO-DMT and bufotenin– a type of tryptamine psychedelic. The poison from this toad is capable of killing a grown dog, and clearly, grown humans as well. When the venom is vaporized and inhaled, it reportedly creates a pyschoactive effect within 15 seconds.
Nonetheless, things went awry for Vidal and Abad. The police have been been investigating Abad’s death for 11 months, leading to not only Vidal’s arrest, but one of his relatives and an employee on suspicion of manslaughter and crimes against public health.
The ritual is apparently being advertised for its medical benefits, despite the risk it poses.
