Los Angeles, CA – Snoop Dogg has been an outspoken critic Donald Trump for at least the past four years. The D-O-Double-G is apparently so disgusted by Trump’s presence at the White House, he’s decided to vote in the November 2020 presidential election — his first time ever.
The veteran West Coast MC made the commitment during a Real 92.3 LA interview with Big Boy on Thursday (June 4) after the topic voting came up.
“I ain’t never voted a day in my life, but this year I think Imma get out and vote because I can’t stand to see this punk in fice one more year,” Snoop said. “For many years they had me brainwashed thinking that you couldn’t vote cause you had a criminal record. I didn’t know that. My record’s been expunged, so now I can vote.”
The country has erupted in riots and protests since the May 25 police killing 46-year-old black man George Floyd. Trump has faced criticism for his handling the situation.
When the protests initially started outside the White House, Secret Service whisked him away to the White House bunker for safety. Earlier this week, he used police force to clear anti-racism demonstrators from Lafayette Park in Washington D.C. so he could walk to St. John’s Episcopal Church and take a photo himself awkwardly holding a Bible.
Consequently, several protesters and the American Civil Liberties Union filed a lawsuit Thursday challenging the federal use force to disperse a peaceful protest in ahead the photo-op. According to a press release, Trump, Attorney General William Barr, Secretary Defense Mark Esper, and numerous other federal ficials are all named in the suit.
“What happened to our members Monday evening, here in the nation’s capital, was an affront to all our rights,” Core Organizer Black Lives Matter D.C. April Goggans said. “The death George Floyd and Breonna Taylor at the hands police ficers has reignited the rage, pain, and deep sadness our community has suffered for generations. We won’t be silenced by tear gas and rubber bullets. Now is our time to be heard.”
