There’s never been more buzz surrounding the WNBA, with Caitlin Clark making her debut for the Indiana Fever, to a slew of other big names joining the game after a record-breaking March Madness. Skims is keeping the ball rolling, partnering with the WNBA for their new Fits Everybody campaign and announcing that they’re now the official underwear for the women’s basketball teams.
Launching Monday, May 13 (just in time for the 2024 season’s tip-off), this Skims campaign highlights rising and current WNBA stars like Cameron Brink, Dijonai Carrington, Kelsey Plum, Skylar Diggins-Smith, and the iconic Candace Parker. In an official video posted to Instagram on Monday, the players are seen modeling their favorite underwear styles for the campaign video. “As the official underwear partner of the @WNBA, SKIMS is as comfortable as it gets. Just in time for the season tip-off,” the caption says.
Photographed by Hugh Wilson, the league’s superstars are posed with beige basketballs and show off the Fits Everybody Bandeau (currently on sale for $14), along with various styles of the Fits Everybody briefs (retailing for $20+).
“I’m proud to launch this new WNBA campaign starring such an incredible cast of athletes. Championing women and women in sports is incredibly important to Skims,” Skims cofounder and chief creative officer Kim Kardashian said in a statement. “Our brand DNA is rooted in inclusivity, representation and women’s empowerment, which are values shared with the WNBA. We are honored to be the official underwear partner of the league and look forward to continuing our work together throughout the season.”
This isn’t Skims first time on the court, launching recent campaigns that featured NBA star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and the Skims March All-Stars series that highlighted college basketball players like Caleb Love (Arizona) and Donovan Clingan (UConn).
Considered to be one of the best WNBA athletes of all time, Parker (now retired) said she was “thrilled” to stand alongside rising and all-stars as she leaves the game behind. “As I move onto this next chapter in my life, I hope to leave the game in a better place and continue to be an example of what is possible both on and off the court,” Parker said in a statement.
