ShrapKnel announce new album & tour, share “Illusions of P”
ShrapKnel, the duo of NYC rappers Curly Castro and PremRock, have announced a new album entirely produced by Controller 7, Nobody Planning To Leave, due June 7 via billy woods’ Backwoodz Studioz label (pre-order). It has songs featuring Open Mike Eagle, Onry Ozzborn, Lungs, Breezly Brewin, D-Styles (of Beat Junkies), and ELUCID (of Armand Hammer), and the first single is “Illusions of P,” a dark, eerie, lurching rap song that makes for a very promising first taste. Check out the song and its video below.
ShrapKnel also announced a tour in support of the album, with fellow NYC duo Phiik & Lungs on all dates, Jesse the Tree on the first five dates, and Ohbliv on the final date in Richmond. They play a hometown release show at Brooklyn’s Public Records on June 19 with Controller 7, Phiik & Lungs, August Fanon x Child Actor, and currently-unannounced special guests. All dates are listed below.
