Two celebrities that people didn’t expect to see together on Instagram Live are Shemar Moore and Moniece Slaughter. The actor and Love & Hip Hop reality star popped up on Live together where they discussed a variety of issues, and Moore took the time to speak with viewers about his heritage. These recent protests have caused many to ask celebrities their opinions of Black Lives Matter or social justice issues, and Shemar Moore took a minute to make it clear that he would never speak negatively about being half white.

“I am half black and I am half white,” Shemar Moore stated. “I am proud to be black but I am also proud to be white. I understand what it is to be treated like a n*gga, but what I don’t have my fame or when I’m in theand nobody knows who I am, then I’m just a n*gga on the street. I’ve been thrown down on the sidewalk in my lifetime. I understand what it is. I haven’t gone through the [George] Floyd situation, I have not gone through that, but I know what it is.”
“I’m not going to denounce the other side of me because I’m looking at humanity,” the actor continued. “, but my mama, if she didn’t think outside the box, I wouldn’t have life. This is a white woman from Boston in the ’60s. That was a very racially divided time and she thought outside of the box and she met my daddy and she made me.”
Shemar Moore added that now that he has life, he’ll never denounce who he is because “there’s good and bad on all sides.” Watch the actor and Moniece Slaughter chat below.
