Rita Ora Teases New Music During Appearance on ‘Kelly Clarkson Show’
Coming Soon
The singer also previewed her upcoming European festival dates this summer
Rita Ora stopped by The Kelly Clarkson Show to discuss her upcoming tour dates and took the opportunity to tease new music, which will arrive in June. The singer confirmed that she will release something on June 2, although did not specify whether it was a single or an album.
“I haven’t actually even told anyone,” Ora told host Kelly Clarkson. “It’s new. It’s a whole new thing for me.”
Ora added that she is performing at Mighty Hoopla 2024 in London’s Brockwell Park on June 2, so fans can expect to hear the new music live. “We’re about to really just get going,” she said of the tour. “I’m really looking forward to just getting back on the road. I feel like I haven’t done a show in a long time. I haven’t toured in so long and I just feel like I need to get back to my music roots.” She added, “It’s time to just sing some songs.”
Ora’s last album, You & I, dropped in June 2023. It featured singles “You Only Love Me,” “Praising You,” and “Don’t Think Twice,” and followed her 2018’s LP, Phoenix. Ora used the music video for “You Only Love Me,” released last January, to announce her marriage to filmmaker Taika Waititi.
“With ‘You Only Love Me’ and my upcoming album, I wanted to capture the vulnerability I’ve experienced as I opened myself up to love and entered a new phase of life,” Ora said in a press release. “Learning to let go of the past to make way for new experiences is a deeply personal process, and one I felt compelled to document through my music. The journey was not always easy, but I’ve come out of it stronger and filled with more love than I ever thought possible.”
Ora will perform at Mighty Hoopla and Germany’s Panama Open Air in June, as well as festivals in Hungary, Romania, and Slovakia later this summer. She told Clarkson there will be more dates announced in the near future.
