Rich Homie Quan dead at 34
Atlanta rapper Rich Homie Quan has passed away at the age of 34. TMZ reports that the news has been confirmed by the rapper’s family and a representative for the Fulton County morgue. A cause of death has not been reported at this time.
Born Dequantes Devontay Lamar, Quan released his first mixtapes, I Go In on Every Song and Still Goin In, in 2012. He appeared on singles with Gucci Mane and others in 2013, and released his own “Type of Way,” which hit #50 on the Hot 100. In 2014 he was part of the 2014 XXL Freshmen Class, and put out the Rich Gang: Tha Tour Pt. 1 mixtape with Young Thug and Birdman, as well as the hit single “Lifestyle.”
Quan released his first and only official album, Rich as in Spirit, in 2018 via Motown, and his most recent release was his 2022 EP Family & Mula. He also released a single with 2 Chainz, “Ah’chi,” earlier this summer.
