Porno for Pyros Postpone Reunion Tour to Work on New Music
‘unfortunately’
“Whilst rehearsing for our first tour in 25 years, we’ve also been in the studio creating new music – that we were hoping to get to you in time for these shows,” Perry Farrell-led band said
Porno for Pyros fans will have to wait a little longer for the band’s first tour in 25 years as the Perry Farrell-led group announced it has postponed their reunion trek in order to work on new music.
The band’s first tour since 1998 was scheduled to kick off a week from today, October 8, in Wheatland, California and run through November 20. However, Porno for Pyros revealed on social media that they’ve “pushed the tour a few months” to focus on the new material they’ve created during rehearsals.
“Petrons, We are beyond thankful for all of your support these last 30 years, and are anxious to celebrate with you. Whilst rehearsing for our first tour in 25 years, we’ve also been in the studio creating new music – that we were hoping to get to you in time for these shows,” the band wrote.
“Unfortunately, we have had to move the dates for the upcoming tour as we were not able to begin our campaign in time. So, we’ve pushed the tour a few months from now, in order for everyone to hear and appreciate the new material that is finally finished.”
The band also promised “new music in the upcoming weeks”; Porno for Pyros haven’t released a new song sine 1997.
Rescheduled dates have not yet been announced. Porno for Pyros’ website has since scrubbed the majority of their tour itinerary, although five previously scheduled dates still remain, including an October 17 show in Salt Lake City; it’s unclear whether these five shows remain on schedule or will also be postponed.
Porno for Pyros — featuring Jane’s Addiction’s Farrell and drummer Stephen Perkins — have reunited for one-offs in recent years, including as a last-minute replacement for Jane’s Addiction at the 2022 Welcome to Rockville fest after guitarist Dave Navarro bowed out with long Covid.
