PinkPantheress Embraces ‘Aloneness’ Amid Grief on Upcoming Debut, ‘Heaven Knows’
From the creator of To Hell With It comes Heaven Knows. On Thursday, PinkPantheress announced the release of her debut LP, which grapples with “being at peace with yourself in your aloneness” amid grief, on Nov. 10.
“What an intense insane moment ! my first album is coming out and you know i love a pun so it’s called ‘heaven knows,’ out on November 10th,” PinkPantheress wrote on Instagram. “This album is an accumulation of music I’ve made over the last two years, with some beloved tunes that might sound familiar and some cutie features that I can’t wait to announce 📣.”
The cover art sees PinkPantheress in an off-white dress leaning against a dark backdrop as a dove flies over her. The LP — set to fair previously-released single “Mosquito” — is about “journeying from hell into purgatory, but I’m ok with being there,” she added in a press release.
Accompanying the album announcement is the release of a new single titled “Capable of Love.” In her Instagram statement, she continued reflecting on the team surrounding her.
“i love everyone here, i cried the other day thinking of how lucky i am to have people willing to listen to me, you are never taken in vain,” she wrote. “to my fanpages, i love you, you’re always there for me and i will never forget about how safe you make me feel 💿💓.”
“it’s been a long time comin from pain to capable of love,” she added. “i hope you love each song you hear from me!”
Heaven Knows marks PinkPantheress’ first proper studio album following a steady string of singles and collaborations, as well as an EP and mixtape. The celebrated British artist broke through in 2021 with songs like “Pain” and “Just for Me,” which eventually appeared on her debut mixtape, To Hell With It (released in October of that year).
In 2022, she collaborated with artists like Mura Masa and Lil Uzi Vert, Willow, and Kaytranada, while at the end of the year, she dropped the EP Take Me Home. That project boasted one of her biggest songs to date, “Boy’s a Liar,” which earned an even more successful “Pt. 2” remix featuring Ice Spice. In the wake of “Boy’s a Liar,” PinkPantheress has worked with Skrillex and Trippie Redd, Troye Sivan, Destroy Lonely, and dropped a handful of solo songs like “Mosquito” and her Barbie soundtrack contribution, “Angel.”
It was also recently announced that PinkPantheress would provide support on Olivia Rodrigo’s 2024 Guts world tour. She’ll join the trek for a string of shows in July and August, including gigs in Philadelphia, Atlanta, San Francisco, and Seattle.
Along with the string of Rodrigo shows, she also announced the Capable of Love tour across Europe, in which she’ll stop in cities such as Dublin, Paris, London, Machester, Berlin, and Amsterdam.
