Discord-born, multi-continental cloud rap collective Fax Gang and South Korean shoegazer Parannoul previously teamed up for the song “Four Walls” on Fax Gang’s 2022 album Dataprism, and now they’ve announced a collaborative album together. It’s called Scattersun, and it comes out next week (Wednesday, June 12) via Topshelf (pre-order). The album was co-written entirely over text chat, and Topshelf’s press release says the two acts “encouraged themselves to throw all caution to the wind with regard to genre and sound palette.”

The first single is the glitchy, bitcrushed, breakbeat-driven “Lullaby for a Memory,” which comes with an equally glitchy video (that comes with an epilepsy warning). The phrase “post-genre” kinda gets overused but it feels pretty damn appropriate here, and their approach doesn’t feel forced at all. Check it out below.
