Open Mike Eagle, Video Dave & Still Rift announce LP & tour as Previous Industries, share “Pliers”
Frequent collaborators Open Mike Eagle, Video Dave and Still Rift made their debut as Previous Industries earlier this year, releasing a few singles on Merge, and now they’ve announced the group’s debut album Service Merchandise, due out on June 28 via Merge. See the cover art and tracklist below.
They’ve also shared a new single, “Pliers,” which is accompanied by a video, directed by David Maximé and animated by Crankbunny, that’s a shot-by-shot remake of the “Show Me the Way to Go Home” scene from Jaws. Watch it below.
Previous Industries will be on tour this summer and fall around their appearance at Merge’s 35th anniversary festival, including an NYC show at Elsewhere Zone One on July 28. Tickets are on sale now, and you can see all dates below.
