Open Mike Eagle announces new project & tour, shares “WFLD 32” ft. Hannibal Buress & more
The prolific and endlessly creative rapper Open Mike Eagle has announced a new project, Another Triumph of Ghetto Engineering, due August 25 via his own Auto Reverse Records. “In the ghetto we never stop toiling! These songs are all fancy ways of saying ‘fuck you’ to people that ignore us and ‘thank you’ to people that care if we live or die! Pay close attention to the song titles! This is another triumph of ghetto engineering!” Mike says. “I took that cover photo. Thats my mama’s hand!”
The first single is “WFLD 32,” which features Mike’s frequent collaborators Still Rift and Video Dave alongside Hannibal Buress‘ rap alter-ego Eshu Tune. It’s a head-nod-inducing posse cut with a hypnotic horn loop and an onslaught of great verses. Check it out below.
OME also announced a tour and those dates are listed below as well.
Last year, Mike released A Tape Called Component System With The Auto Reverse, which was partially a solo album, partially a showcase for Auto Reverse, Still Rift, and Video Dave.
