New York, NY – According to court documents, NYPD investigators have a suspect in the shooting death 21-year-old Brooklyn rapper Nick Blixky.
28-year-old Caliph Glean, a former convict, is believed to be the gunman in Blixky’s murder on May 10. The rising rapper was shot in the upper body and back. Per surveillance footage reviewed by NYPD, Glean and Blixky embraced moments before the shooting took place.
Glean was arrested in Philadelphia and charged with illegal possession ammunition in the case. He made his first court appearance on Friday (June 12) and has yet to be charged with Blixky’s murder.
“There is probable cause to believe that the individual who shot and killed Blixky] is Glean,” an NYPD ficer wrote in court documents filed on Thursday (June 11).
Glean had been out on parole since October 2019 after serving two years for attempted murder. Witnesses say they saw a man matching Glean’s description with a “distinctive” globe tattoo fleeing the scene the crime.
On May 10, Blixky was found unconscious and unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to New York City Health & Hospitals/Kings County, where he was pronounced dead.
The rising rapper’s debut mixtape, Different Timin, was posthumously released on June 3rd.
