Nile Rodgers to curate Meltdown Festival 2019

Rodgers follows within the footsteps of Yoko Ono, M.I.A and Robert Smith.

Chic co-founder Nile Rodgers will take over London’s Southbank Centre this August to curate the 2019 version of Meltdown Festival.

Each 12 months Meltdown Festival invitations an artist to curate their very own competition lineup, with previous curators together with Laurie Anderson, David Bowie, Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, Massive Attack, Yoko Ono, M.I.A and The Cure’s Robert Smith.

This 12 months, Rodgers will current 9 days of music from August three – 11 on the Royal Festival Hall, the Queen Elizabeth Hall, the Purcell Room and numerous different venues throughout the Southbank Centre on the banks of the River Thames.

“To have the ability to curate and produce 9 days of reside music for the town of London, the UK and music lovers visiting from all around the world is really a dream come true”, says Rodgers. “It’s all concerning the groove and this August everybody in London can be dancing to unimaginable reside performances!”.
