Louis Tomlinson has addressed the rumours that he was once in a relationship with Harry Styles, calling the speculation “irritating” and “far too personal”.

Speaking to Brazilian outlet G1 recently, the singer was asked why some fans believe he was dating his former One Direction bandmate at one point during the group’s career (via Billboard).

‘Larries’ – a portmanteau of ‘Louis’ and ‘Harry’ – are 1D followers who think the pair were romantically involved in the past, or are still secretly a couple. Tomlinson reportedly banned the term ‘Larry’ from his Instagram in 2016.

“What’s tough is, I’ve realised – I realised this some years ago – there is nothing I can say,” he explained to G1. “There is nothing I can do to dispel the believers of that conspiracy.”

Tomlinson continued: “They are so intertwined with what they believe to be the truth now that they won’t actually see the truth for what it is.

“I’d be lying if I… it does irritate me a little bit, you know? But it is just kind of the nature of the job, I suppose. There are times where it gets far too personal within that whole space.”

He added: “I’ve got my son, Freddie, who’s the most important person in my life. Occasionally, it kind of broaches some stuff that’s really unfair.
