Newport Folk Festival returns to Fort Adams Park for its 2024, 65th anniversary edition on July 26-28, and as has become usual for the fest, they’ve been rolling out the lineup one artist at a time over the past few weeks, since tickets went on sale and quickly sold out. Today they announced that Killer Mike is headed to Newport, where he’ll perform on Saturday (7/22), along with Gillian Welch and David Rawlings, and Reyna Tropical.

Also performing this year are Adrianne Lenker and Guster on Friday, and Sierra Ferrell on Sunday. Stay tuned for more additions.

Killer Mike’s addition to the lineup follows his arrest at the Grammys, where he won Best Rap Album for MICHAEL, and Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song for “Scientists & Engineers” with André 3000, Future, and Eryn Allen Kane. He was released without bail and said he had the “upmost confidence that I will ultimately be cleared of all wrongdoing.”
