JoJo wasn’t expecting to compete with Drake when she dropped her Good To Know album on Friday (May 1). But Drizzy threw her — and everyone else putting out projects this week — for a loop with the surprise release his Dark Lane Demo Tapes.
The R&B singer reacted by tweeting “Damn Drake” when the OVO star snatched away the spotlight from her first studio LP in four years. Although JoJo’s album ceded attention to Drizzy’s unexpected project, she got a nice consolation prize from a diamond-selling legend.

JoJo was delighted to receive support from the Grammy Award-winning superstar, posting about Carey’s positive feedback a few hours later.
“What queen said!!!!!!!!!!!” she exclaimed. “Wow. God is really smiling on me tonight.”
