Chicago, IL – Protest music from 1988 still rings true today.
After announcing their return to social media on Saturday (May 30), hacktivist group Anonymous set their targets on the Minneapolis Police Department for their “many crimes” and the Chicago Police Department. According to various reports on social media, the group allegedly hacked the radio frequencies the Chicago PD and played N.W.A‘s “Fuck tha Police” for at least two minutes.
The group, using the Twitter account @YourAnonNews, wrote on Sunday (May 31), “We stand in solidarity with the protesters and revolutionaries fighting the US oligarchy, fighting the injustice a massively corrupt racist system that has continued on for generations. #BlackLivesMatter.”
They added, “If the police can’t restrain themselves and are shooting reporters, kicking protesters, punching protesters, and engaging in violence – how can anyone expect the people to restrain themselves? People are done being brutalized and murdered.”

Apparently someone stole a Chicago police radio and was playing “fuck tha police” on it. What a fucking legend.

The incident in Chicago is not the first time “Fuck tha Police” has been used to hack into a public broadcast system. In 2018, several police ficers in New Zealand reported that they were forced to repeatedly listen to “Fuck tha Police.”
A similar situation happened in 2017 after numerous radio stations across the country played “FDT,” a protest song by YG and the late Nipsey Hussle on loop for 15 minutes.
