Gold Panda reveals hip hop and home alias DJ Jenifa

His debut album underneath the brand new moniker, Jag Trax, is out now.

Gold Panda, aka UK producer Derwin Dicker, has launched a brand new album underneath a hip hop and home oriented new moniker, DJ Jenifa – a reputation taken from the Del La Soul basic ‘Jenifa Taught Me (Derwin’s Revenge)’.

According to Dicker, Jag Trax is “closely impressed by sampling tradition” and consists of 9 tracks largely made up of single, looped samples, kick drums and an MPC.

The album’s title derives from the 2003 S-Type Jaguar that Dicker was driving in the course of the making of the album. “I might make these tracks that I may simply play loud within the Jag”, he explains. “They had been songs that I may simply bang out on the motorway and make the journey go faster.”

“Unfortunately, the CD participant within the Jag wouldn’t play any of the CDs that I might burn… so I by no means really heard these tunes in it.”

Jag Trax is out now. Check out the album artwork and tracklist under.
