‘Fortnite’ scrapped a load of ‘Family Guy’ skins from its crossover event
A new leak has revealed Epic Games scrapped a load of Family Guy content from the Fortnite crossover event.
Fortnite has featured a countless number of collaborations over the years, but few have been launched with as much excitement as its Family Guy crossover.
Taking place at the end of 2023 as part of Chapter 5 Season 1, the Family Guy x Fortnite crossover event added skins of Peter Griffin and his arch-nemesis the Giant Chicken to the game, alongside several Family Guy-inspired cosmetics including Piñata Brian, a backscratcher and a frying pan. Unique emotes and weapons were also unlockable as part of the crossover, as was the Petercopter glider.
However, a new leak has revealed that the crossover was originally planned to be a lot bigger. According to the new information, it seems like Epic Games planned to feature a number of different outfits for Peter and the Giant Chicken, including a “guerilla warfare” variant. The shared images also reveal a number of different pickaxes were in development, including a crocodile and a cello, which both reference memorable events in the Fox show.
The leak also suggests that the Family Guy x Fortnite crossover was originally due to be released as part of Chapter 2 Season 5 before it was delayed by almost three years.
Earlier this year, Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane revealed someone had to “explain to me what the fuck Fortnite is” before he signed off on the crossover.

He went on to reveal that Peter Griffins’ overly muscular appearance in the game was a result of cost-cutting. “I was told they didn’t have the budget to create his actual body, so they had to stick his head on [another character] like a TV guide cover from the ‘90s.”
Last month, Fortnite players became obsessed with the new Wanderer character who was introduced as part of Chapter 5 Season 3.
