Flying Lotus surprise-releases new EP ‘Spirit Box’ ft. Dawn Richard & Sid Sriram

Flying Lotus recently dropped the new singles “Garmonbozia” and “Ingo Swann,” and now he surprise-released a new EP featuring those songs, three other new ones, and instrumental versions of three of the tracks. Dawn Richard and Sid Sriram both appear as guest vocalists, on “Let Me Cook” and “The Lost Girls,” respectively. The EP finds him branching out into everything from ’70s prog synths (“Ajhussi”) to house music (“Ingo Swann”) to the funk-R&B of the Dawn Richard collab to the airy textures and hand-drum patterns of the Sid Sriram collab, and there’s plenty of that classic FlyLo touch throughout the EP as well. It’s great and you can hear it in full below.

Dawn Richard is also fresh off releasing her second collaborative album with composer Spencer Zahn, Quiet In A World Full of Noise.
