It’s a clear evolution from her earlier work, showcasing not just musical growth but a personal reckoning. We sat down with Emilie to talk about the inspiration behind her fearless new single, her cross-cultural reach, and what’s coming next in her rising global journey.
Q: Your new single, “Amazing as Hell,” has a bold title—what’s the story or emotion behind the song?
A: The story behind “Amazing as Hell” is that I was never a good fit for being a friend or a girlfriend—no matter what I did or said, it was never good enough.

Q: Was there a particular moment or inspiration that sparked the creation of “Amazing as Hell”?
A: I’d had enough and told myself, I am amazing as I am. That moment inspired me to write this song. That’s why it’s called “Amazing as Hell”—because no matter what, you are amazing just as you are.
Q: The energy in “Amazing as Hell” is electric— What did you do differently in this track compared to your previous releases like “Ocean” or “Darkest Night”?
A: I love all genres of music, but the emotions in this song really called for a rock vibe. So, of course, there had to be an electric guitar and an 80s-inspired beat. Honestly, I was also inspired by Michael Jackson.
Q: Can you walk us through your songwriting process—do lyrics, melody, or emotions usually come to you first?
A: When it comes to writing lyrics, I always start by writing down what I’m feeling. If I really connect with the words, it turns into a song—so yes, lyrics come first.
Q: You’ve received major support from U.S. platforms like NBC and KCAA Radio, including 11 interviews on NBC alone—how has this American media spotlight influenced your international reach and confidence as an artist?
A: It’s definitely motivating me to keep going. It’s always been my dream since I was a little girl. It also gives me more confidence when I see that my music makes people happy.
Q: Your music is now played in 15 countries—how does it feel knowing your voice is resonating with people across so many different cultures?
A: Seeing and knowing that my music is being played in so many countries is truly an honor. I’m very grateful for every step of this journey and for every person who listens.
Q: You’ve performed both live in Denmark and virtually for U.S. audiences—how do those experiences compare, and what have you learned from each?
A: I’ve learned to always keep going. Every stage is a great opportunity and a new adventure. Each performance brings incredible moments and lasting memories.
Q: With both pop ballads and powerful rock-leaning tracks under your belt, how would you describe your musical identity today, and how has it evolved?
A: I’d describe it as unique—a genre-blending sound with a mix of everything. Each song tells a different story, and that’s what makes my music what it is.
Q: What’s next for you in 2025? Any upcoming projects, collaborations, or live performances we should look out for?
A: Yes! I have more music coming out, concerts planned for September, and I’ve also been nominated in three categories for a music award in the U.S. called the ISSA Awards.
