Ciara’s ‘Goodies’ vinyl reissue includes accidental Windows pop-up sound

The 20th anniversary vinyl reissue of Ciara’s ‘Goodies’ has left some fans confused after a Windows popup sound appeared on the record.

The re-release of the R&B star’s 2004 debut album was released on September 27, complete with the album’s original bonus tracks and a new remix of the title track.

Some fans have noticed one curiosity on the record, however – on the Missy Elliott collaboration ‘1, 2 Step’, an apparent recording glitch has allowed for a Windows sound effect to make its way into the final mix.

Also notable about the ‘Goodies’ reissue is the fact that the track ‘Next To You’, which featured a guest appearance from R. Kelly, has been removed from the tracklisting.

‘Goodies’ was released in September 2004 and featured production from Lil Jon and guest appearances from artists including Sean Garrett and Keri Hilson. As well as ‘1, 2 Step’, it also includes the singles ‘Goodies’, ‘Oh’ and ‘And I’.

It reached Number Three on the Billboard 200 and earned Ciara two Grammy nominations, for Best New Artist and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for ‘1, 2 Step’.

Ciara has made a total of seven studio albums to date, most recently ‘Beauty Marks’ in 2019. In a three-star review, NME said: “Though ‘Beauty Marks’ is rarely innovative, Ciara shows a respectable amount of range throughout the record. ‘Thinkin Bout You’ is shimmering disco ear candy, ‘Girl Gang’ unites her with Kelly Rowland for a righteous girl power bop, and the electro-R&B of ‘Greatest Love’ glides and glistens stylishly.”

That follows on from her involvement on Missy Elliott’s North American tour this summer, where Timbaland and Busta Rhymes were also on the bill.
