Chiquis Promises to Shine Like a ‘Diamante’ on Upcoming Tour
Chiquis is hitting the road!
On Monday, the música Mexicana star announced her Diamantes Tour, which seems to tease a new era of music for the singer.
“I am so ecstatic, and cannot wait to kick off my Diamantes Tour alongside my band, Banda Abeja Reina,” she said in a press release. “I am ready to share this new, fresh and one-of-a-kind concert experience, carefully developed with love for my U.S. and Mexican fans.”
“I want to personally invite all my Boss Bees to join me with their flashiest outfits on at every show, so we can shine bright, together!” she added.
The singer will begin her run of shows on May 30 in El Cajon, California, before stopping in cities such as Houston, Irving, Atlanta, and Inglewood, with shows scheduled through July. The singer is expected to share additional tour dates in “the coming weeks,” according to the release.
The tour announcement comes several months after Chiquis, the daughter of late grupera legend Jenni Rivera, dropped her album Chiquis – Bee Side, which heard the singer experimenting with new sounds like electro-cumbia, perreo, along with some mariachis. She also dropped a live album called Chiquis En Vivo last year.
Fans looking to purchase tickets for the upcoming shows can do so beginning on March 15 at 10 a.m. local time. Fans with Citi presale can buy tickets beginning March 12. The tour also includes VIP packages that include meet and greets with Chiquis, plus limited edition tour posters.
Rolling Stone last spoke with the artist alongside her siblings about dropping Misión Cumplida, her mom’s posthumous album, last year.
“[Keeping our family united] is something that is one of my missions on this earth, and it’s something that I know is very important to my mom,” she said at the time. “We truly, genuinely love each other.”
