Avengers: Doomsday is still over a year away from its scheduled release date, but Marvel Studios has wasted no time in building anticipation for its next hero-rammed extravaganza.

Back in late March, Marvel surprised fans with a six-hour stream event, in which every cast member for the upcoming film was announced with a set chair – each one revealing a different actor’s name.

Of course, one star who had already been confirmed to feature was Robert Downey Jr., who will be making a shock return to the MCU to play the franchise’s next major villain – Doctor Doom. The actor previously portrayed Tony Stark/Iron Man before being killed off in Avengers: Endgame.

During the live stream, the likes of Chris Hemsworth, Vanessa Kirby, Paul Rudd, Florence Pugh, Tom Hiddleston, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen and many more were also announced for Doomsday.

Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige has clarified that more cast members will be announced shortly but, for the meantime, here is every actor currently confirmed appear to in Avengers: Doomsday.

In March, Avengers directors Joe and Anthony Russo revealed that Downey Jr. is helping write Doctor Doom’s backstory for the film.

“He is so immersed in it. He is so dialled in,” the duo told Entertainment Tonight. “He’s writing backstory, costume ideas… we were just on the phone with him this morning before we got here talking about it. He just loves really rich three-dimensional characters, and I think he sees a real opportunity here with the character.”

Production on Avengers: Doomsday is now underway ahead of its scheduled release in May 2026.
