New Order Announce 'The Best & The Rest Of' Remastered Collection

New Order have officially announced the upcoming release of The Best & The Rest Of, a definitive remastered collection that brings together two of the band’s most acclaimed compilations: The Best Of New Order and The Rest Of New Order. The collection is scheduled for release via Warner Music on July 17.

This expansive project marks the first time these two iconic records have been combined, offering fans a chance to experience the band’s catalog with fully remastered audio. Beyond the core tracks, the collection includes a significant selection of remixes, many of which have never been released before, featuring contributions from electronic music luminaries such as SubSub, Richie Hawtin, and Joe T. Vannelli.

A Legacy Reimagined

Originally released in 1994, The Best Of New Order served as a landmark retrospective, capturing the band’s evolution through the mid-80s and early 90s. It featured essential tracks like ‘True Faith’, ‘Bizarre Love Triangle’, ‘Blue Monday 88’, and ‘World In Motion’. The companion remix album, The Rest Of New Order, followed in 1995, further cementing the band’s influence on the electronic dance music scene with reimagined versions of their classic hits.

Both albums will also be available as separate vinyl formats, with the audio meticulously cut at Abbey Road Studios. Notably, The Rest Of New Order will be released as a 3LP set, compiling all 12 songs from the original CD and vinyl release for the first time.

“From our beginnings as Joy Division to the evolving journey of New Order, this accolade reflects the resilience across nearly five decades that has defined our path alongside our fans, our collaborators and those sadly no longer with us.”

Recent Accolades and Future Prospects

The announcement follows a period of significant recognition for the band. Both Joy Division and New Order were recently inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame as a single act, a milestone that celebrated their enduring impact on music history. Following the induction, bassist Peter Hook has spoken about the possibility of future performances and the band’s legacy.

The 2026 induction ceremony is slated for November 14 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, with a broadcast to follow on ABC and Disney+ in December. As the band prepares to revisit their past with this new collection, they continue to be recognized as one of the most influential acts in pop culture history.
