Ice Spice Stars in New Wendy’s Commercial Following Viral Incident

Ice Spice is the star of Wendy’s new commercial, following her viral McDonald’s fight video.

Last month, TMZ released CCTV footage of the Bronx rapper getting into an angry confrontation with a member of the public while she was sitting in a branch of McDonald’s in Los Angeles. The clip was later shared widely online.

The incident occurred on April 15, and the video shows the rapper sitting at a booth with a friend when they are approached by a woman who attempts to sit with them and begins talking to them. Before long, the woman reaches out to hit the artist and a scuffle ensues. As members of the public try to intervene, the rapper clambers over neighboring booths and follows the woman outside.

After the incident, the rapper—who famously worked at competing fast-food chain Wendy’s before her music career took off—made light of the situation. She shared an edited version of the video on her X account, writing: “This wouldn’t happen at Wendy’s.”

Now, she has turned the viral moment into a commercial opportunity, starring in a new Wendy’s ad promoting the company’s sizzling chicken sandwich, which was shared on Friday, May 1. “I heard Wendy’s upgraded their OG spicy chicken sandwich,” she says in the clip. “New spicy?!” Later in the spot, she adopts the moniker ‘Ice Spicy,’ wearing a new chain to match the alias.

She also gets a new tattoo, while her single ‘Thootie’ plays in the background. “New upgraded spicy chicken, only at Wendy’s,” she continues to close the clip. “Spice recognize spice.”

The rapper’s attorney, Bradford Cohen, issued a statement following the McDonald’s incident, stating: “The unprovoked attack on my client has been reported to the LAPD and we will be pursuing any and all avenues to hold the perpetrators responsible for their actions, including criminally and civilly.”

Elsewhere, Cardi B previously threatened to confront the rapper in a leaked phone call that surfaced last October.
