Brad Pitt will only reunite with Tom Cruise if the film is “grounded”: “I’m not gonna hang my ass off an airplane”
Brad Pitt has said he would only reunite with Tom Cruise to make another film together if it avoided the daring stunts the Mission: Impossible actor is known for.
Oscar winner Pitt and Cruise made one film together earlier in their careers – 1994 horror/drama Interview With The Vampire. The movie, based on the novel by Anne Rice, saw Cruise play a rare villainous role as The Vampire Lestat, who introduces the melancholy Louis (Pitt) into his immortal world.
While both have become two of the biggest names in Hollywood, the stars have not collaborated in the three decades since that film. Speaking to E! ahead of the release of his film F1, Pitt was asked about the Top Gun daredevil.

“He’s sweet,” he said, adding: “we did have our go-cart days back in the ’90s”. He admitted that Cruise was the faster driver back then. When pressed as to whether he would be interested in working with him again, the Fight Club actor quipped: “Well, I’m not gonna hang my ass off airplane shit like that,” adding: “When he does something again that’s on the ground”.
F1 is released in cinemas on June 25. In May, BLACKPINK’s Rosé revealed she would release anew song for the film’s soundtrack, her first since her 2024 album ‘Rosie’.
As for Tom Cruise, it looks as though he will not be coming back to the ground anytime soon. Christopher McQuarrie, director of Mission: Impossible – Final Reckoning, revealed that a third Top Gun movie was “already in the bag”.
