Common & Pete Rock taking new album ‘The Auditorium’ on tour

Common and Pete Rock just released their collab album The Auditorium Vol 1, and they celebrated on Sunday in NYC with a free SummerStage show in Herbert Von King Park (watch video of that below). Now they’ve announced The Auditorium Tour. Dates kick off August 28 in Del Mar, CA and include stops in Los Angeles, Dallas, Nashville, Boston, DC, Philly and more. All dates are listed below.

The Auditorium Tour wraps up with three nights at NYC’s Blue Note on September 23-25, with early and late shows each evening. Tickets for all dates of the tour go on sale Friday, July 19 at 10 AM local time.

“Pete Rock is one of The Greatest Creators Hip Hop and Music has ever seen. It has been a dream of mine to work with him on an album,” says Common of The Auditorium. “And once we got together and I was around him and all his records and his MPC I felt the spirit of what I always loved in hip hop in soul music and why I wanted to be a part of the artform. His beats, his production, his scratches, took me to a place where I could just MC freely. It felt I like I was home.” Adds Pete Rock, “To work with Common is truly unbelievable. I’m grateful for the connection we have on this project and excited for the world to hear our new album. The excitement is unbearable. Common and Pete Rock taking over the summer!”

You can listen to The Auditorium, and watch Common and Peter Rock perform with The Roots on The Tonight Show last week below.
