Eladio Carrión Drops Surprise EP: ‘I Owed My Fans Some Trap’
Sauce Boy’z Back
The five-track project comes ahead of his consecutive sold-out shows at El Choli
Eladio Carrión is dropping a surprise EP… because he can. On Wednesday night, the reggaetonero released a five-track project, titled Porque Puedo, in time for his career-defining performances at Puerto Rico’s historic venue El Choli.
The new music follows the release of his full-length project Sol María in January and hears the musician leaning completely into the trap elements fans fell in love with from his earlier Sauce Boyz series. The project includes “Don KBRN Freestyle” on which Carrión sings and raps over a laidback piano. He also drops some bars in English on “Henny Mood.”
“With ‘Sol Maria’ being a more commercial album, I felt I owed my fans some trap,” Carrión said in a press release. “As I was home spending time with my family, I started to work on music. It all turned into Porque Puedo, and I thought what perfect timing to give this to my true fans as they get ready to see me at El Choli.”
The rapper is set to headline three consecutive nights at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico from May 2 through May 4. Carrión opened up to Rolling Stone around the release of 3MEN2 KBRN about how he manifested the superstar lifestyle for himself. “It’s super cool to see how it all played out, to be able to witness close up how real manifestation is, and how that, combined with hard work can really get you to any place you want to be,” he said at the time. “I’ve basically manifested this since I started to rap. “
