Chick-Fil-A has previously been at the center controversy for its longstanding support charities with anti-LGBTQ stances.
Last November, the company addressed the backlashing by announcing it would stop donating money to three organizations: The Salvation Army, the Fellowship Christian Athletes and the Paul Anderson Youth Home.
Chick-Fil-A has also been accused supporting Donald Trump but denied making any political donations in a statement to Newsweek. The fast-food chain was one multiple companies said to be backing Trump’s re-election campaign in a viral tweet from 2019.
“In my tracking down I noticed a lot the companies are funding PACS which are directly helping Trump’s re-election or have helped in the past,” Zuriel Sanders, the person behind the Twitter post, told Newsweek. “It’s indirect but I still see it as them supporting his campaign even if it’s indirect you know?”
